FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) – Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are heading back to Indianapolis, and this time it’s personal.
Ryan says Monday that he wants to beat quarterback Peyton Manning one day in the playoffs, and hopes that it’s Saturday night when the Jets (11-5) take on the Colts (10-6). Manning is 2-0 in the postseason against Ryan-led defenses, including last year’s AFC championship game.
Ryan says “yes, it’s personal” against Manning, as well as the Colts’ other star players, including Reggie Wayne, Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis.
The Jets coach says he has “waited a full year for this” and wants to “put the shoe on the other foot” by knocking the Colts out of the playoffs. New York is coming off a 38-7 victory over Buffalo on Sunday.
