HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) -The New York Jets placed wide receiver Chansi Stuckey on injured reserve Wednesday, ending the rookie’s season because of a foot injury.
The Jets also signed safety Abram Elam and added him to the active roster, and released safety Ray Ventrone from the practice squad.
Stuckey, injury-prone throughout his college career at Clemson, injured his right foot last week and was inactive for the season opener against the New England Patriots. The nature and severity of the injury wasn’t immediately known.
Coach Eric Mangini said it was the same foot he broke in his senior year of college, but a different injury.
“It was something that came up last week that when we tested it, it just wasn’t going to get any better, so we put him on IR,” Mangini said.
