HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) -New York Jets left guard Alan Faneca will miss the team’s preseason opener against the St. Louis Rams because of a broken finger.
Faneca didn’t practice with the team at Hofstra on Wednesday night because he injured the middle finger on his left hand earlier in the week. He said he broke it a few days ago and then aggravated it near the end of practice Tuesday at SUNY Cortland.
Faneca becomes the fifth starter who’ll miss the game against the Rams on Friday because of injury, joining center Nick Mangold (right knee), right tackle Damien Woody (head), cornerback Darrelle Revis (left hamstring) and nose tackle Kris Jenkins (left calf).
