FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Jets coach Rex Ryan thinks there should be no question whether the Super Bowl should be played at the new Meadowlands Stadium in 2014.
NFL owners are voting next week on the site of the league’s showcase event, and Ryan says Thursday he thinks it will go in favor of the bid by the Jets and Giants despite it being the first Super Bowl to be played outdoors in a cold-weather locale.
Ryan says the game “should” be played here for a number of reasons, including that it would be in one of the top stadiums in the league while helping two teams. He says he couldn’t see how it wouldn’t be the owners’ choice.
Miami and Tampa, which have hosted 14 Super Bowls between them, also submitted bids.
