Jacksonville rookie offensive tackle Luke Joeckel will miss the rest of the season because of a broken right ankle.
The No. 2 overall draft pick in April was injured in the first quarter of a 34-20 loss to the Rams on Sunday. He was taken off the field on a cart.
Joeckel got his leg rolled up by Rams defensive tackle Kendall Langford at the end of a 1-yard carry by Maurice Jones-Drew.
“I saw it happen and it’s unfortunate,” said quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who also left the game with an injury. “It wasn’t pretty.”
Gabbert strained his left hamstring in the third quarter. Playing in his hometown, he was 9 of 19 for 181 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions before leaving.
Jaguars tight end Allen Reisner left the game in the third quarter with a sprained knee.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left the game against the New York Giants with a left hamstring injury.
Vick grabbed his left hamstring while gaining 13 yards on a running play in the second quarter. He finished that series and began the Eagles’ next possession, but left after one incomplete pass.
Nick Foles replaced Vick and led Philadelphia to a 36-21 victory.
Giants running back David Wilson left after the final play of the first period with a neck injury and did not return.
Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews left the Packers’ 22-9 win over Detroit after the third quarter with a thumb injury.
Matthews sacked Matthew Stafford on the last play of the quarter on a third-and-9 at the 34 to push the Lions out of field-goal range. He jogged to the locker room with a trainer and did not return.
The Packers also lost starting linebacker Brad Jones to a hamstring injury. His replacement, Robert Francois, later left the game with a torn Achilles.
San Diego lost running back Ryan Mathews to a concussion in the first half of a 27-17 loss to Oakland.
Broncos cornerback Chris Harris sustained a concussion and didn’t return for the second half of Denver’s 51-48 victory against the Dallas Cowboys. Denver also lost starting middle linebacker Wesley Woodyard because of what coach John Fox said after the game was a neck injury. When Woodyard was hurt late in the first quarter, it was initially announced as a shoulder injury.
Fox said defensive end Robert Ayers (shoulder) and running back Ronnie Hillman (ankle) were also hurt. The coach didn’t get into the specifics or severity of any of the injuries.
Also, Titans linebacker Zach Brown hurt his right knee and twice went to the sideline. And defensive end Derrick Morgan hurt his shoulder late in a loss to the Chiefs.
Bears defensive tackle Nate Collins hurt his left knee in the third quarter against New Orleans and did not return.
The Panthers lost starting left guard Amini Silatolu with a knee injury in the third quarter against Arizona.
