EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -Chad Greenway doesn’t seem too excited about earning his first NFC defensive player of the week award for his game against the Lions last week.
Greenway had two interceptions and a fumble recovery in the Minnesota Vikings’ win at Detroit. But he says he’s more concerned with the defense’s sluggish performance in the first half.
The Vikings allowed 94 yards rushing in the first two quarters against the Lions, an uncharacteristic showing for the league’s best run defense over the last three years.
But Greenway intercepted a pass, recovered a fumble and secured an onside kick in the second half to help the Vikings overcome a 10-0 deficit and win the game 27-13.
The Vikings host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
