IRVING, Texas (AP) – Dolphins assistant head coach Todd Bowles has interviewed to become the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
Bowles said he met with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for several hours Wednesday, and that he thought it went well.
Bowles was Dallas’ secondary coach from 2005-07. He interviewed for the job the last time it was open in 2007.
Jason Garrett is believed to be the front-runner after going 5-3 as interim coach following the firing of Wade Phillips.
The Cowboys also are in the market for a defensive coordinator. Asked if he was interested in that job, Bowles said he was focused strictly on becoming a head coach.
