BEREA, Ohio (AP) – Joshua Cribbs says he won’t beg Cleveland’s coaches to give him the football.
Following the Browns’ 16-14 loss to Kansas City, coach Eric Mangini said he regretted not using Cribbs more in the wildcat. Cribbs only lined up once behind center and picked up 1 yard.
The Browns’ offense gained just 55 yards after halftime vs. the Chiefs. Like Mangini, Cribbs believes the Browns have enough weapons but the club needs to cut down on penalties and turnovers or their 0-2 record could get worse.
Cribbs, who burned the Chiefs on a 65-yard TD catch, was pleased to hear Mangini wants to get him more touches, but the Pro Bowl return specialist says it’s not in his nature to demand the ball.
Cleveland plays at Baltimore (1-1) on Sunday.
