SAN ANTONIO (AP) -Cowboys running back Felix Jones missed practice to rest an injured toe that shortened his rookie season.
Jones was held out Monday morning, but said he would be back later in the day.
The speedy Jones was already out with a hamstring injury last season when he hurt the toe, forcing him onto injured reserve. He’s being counted on to juice up the offense after making several dazzling plays in six games last year.
Also Monday, special teams coach Joe DeCamillis ran practice without wearing a neck brace for the first time. He’s used the collar since having surgery to repair a broken neck suffered when the team’s practice facility collapsed in May.
