IRVING, Texas (AP) -The Dallas Cowboys are hoping starting running back Marion Barber will recover from a knee injury in time play at Minnesota on Sunday.
Coach Wade Phillips said Monday that Barber is receiving treatment. He will be held out of practice Wednesday to give him more time to heal.
Barber missed some practice time last week, then had only three carries in Dallas’ playoff victory over Philadelphia on Saturday night.
Phillips says third-stringer Tashard Choice is fine. He left the Eagles game after taking a hard hit, one week after suffering a concussion. He has been cleared to practice.
