IRVING, Texas (AP) – Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett says he’s to blame for trying an ill-fated play at the end of the first half against Washington instead of having Tony Romo take a knee.
Coach Wade Phillips said Monday it was ultimately his fault because he could’ve overruled Garrett.
However, Garrett said Wednesday: “I called the play. It’s my fault.”
The play resulted in a fumble that the Redskins returned for their only touchdown in a 13-7 victory.
