IRVING, Texas (AP) – Before this month, the Dallas Cowboys had allowed only two receivers to gain 200 yards in a game in their 50-season history. That total has doubled in two games.
Philadelphia’s DeSean Jackson and Indianapolis’ Reggie Wayne both hit the 200-yard mark against Dallas in December.
Cornerback Orlando Scandrick says there’s no secret. The secondary has “to play better.”
The Cowboys are ranked 27th in the NFL in pass defense, and have allowed 30 points in three consecutive games.
Jackson had 210 yards on only four catches last week against Dallas, including a 60-yarder on the very first play and a game-clinching 91-yard touchdown. That came a week after Wayne’s 14 catches for 200 yards in the Colts’ overtime loss.
