ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -Tom Cable’s status as Oakland Raiders head coach is still in limbo almost three weeks after the end of the regular season.
Cable has been talking with owner Al Davis about his job since the season ended Jan. 3. Senior executive John Herrera says those talks will continue “until it comes to a resolution.”
Davis has also been talking to potential assistant coaches. He met this week with Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson. Herrera denied reports in the Carroll County Times and the Baltimore Sun that Jackson was also interviewing for the head coaching job.
Cable’s status is in question after he went 5-11 in his first full season as coach and failed to develop JaMarcus Russell into a legitimate NFL quarterback.
