ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -Jason Campbell might have done enough to win back the starting quarterback job for the Oakland Raiders even after Bruce Gradkowski recovers from a separated shoulder.
Just last week coach Tom Cable said the quarterback situation was “clear cut” and Gradkowski would be the starter when he was healthy. Cable said Monday he is leaning to sticking with the “hot hand” when the Raiders return from their bye to face Pittsburgh on Nov. 21
That clearly is Campbell. Campbell has led the Raiders to their first three-game winning streak since 2002 by rallying the team past Kansas City 23-20 in overtime Sunday. The win moved Oakland (5-4) within a half-game of the Chiefs for AFC West lead.
