TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Tampa Bay linebacker Geno Hayes has been released on bond after being arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing during an incident at a nightclub.
The third-year pro was jailed early Monday, hours after the Buccaneers returned home from a win at Washington.
Police say Hayes became aggressive while intervening in a dispute that led to two men the player knew being asked to leave the entrance to the Blue Martini Lounge.
The linebacker himself was ejected after ignoring a directive to go back into the club.
According to the police report, an officer used an electronic control device on Hayes when the linebacker returned to the lounge and became disruptive while a friend was looking for a credit card the athlete said he left behind.
