BEREA, Ohio (AP) -Browns rookie quarterback Colt McCoy is undergoing further tests on his sprained left ankle, the third Cleveland quarterback to suffer that injury this season.
Coach Eric Mangini confirmed McCoy sprained his ankle in Sunday’s loss at Jacksonville, but was unclear about the extent of the injury. Mangini will wait to see if McCoy can practice on Wednesday before naming a start for Sunday’s home game against Carolina.
McCoy was in a walking boot following Sunday’s loss in Jacksonville. He was not available to reporters on Monday.
The Browns have had a rash of ankle sprains to their quarterbacks. Both Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace suffered high ankle sprains and missed extended time. Mangini said Delhomme “is back to 100 percent.”
