BEREA, Ohio (AP) -Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini says there’s no such thing as an ugly win.
Mangini said all victories are “beautiful, special in their own way” on Monday, one day after the Browns got their second straight last-second win, 13-10 over the Miami Dolphins. At this point last season, the Browns (5-7) were 1-11 and Mangini’s job was in serious jeopardy.
But the Browns are building, and after their fourth win in six games, Mangini’s future has never looked more promising or secure. Cleveland has matched its win total from 2009 and Mangini said he’s gotten positive feedback from president Mike Holmgren, who will evaluate his job after the season.
Mangini joked that the two are not “high-fiving and belly-bumping” but that Holmgren likes the direction the Browns are headed.
