FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Tom Brady wants no part of a verbal contest with the New York Jets.
The New England Patriots quarterback says the only thing he really cares about is being ready to play each week. He and his teammates are preparing to face the Jets in a divisional playoff game on Sunday.
Jets coach Rex Ryan said last Thursday that no one studies like Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning even though Brady thinks he does. The Jets beat Manning and the Colts 17-16 on Saturday to advance in the playoffs.
Brady said Monday during his weekly appearance on WEEI radio that everybody is entitled to their opinion. And he said maybe Ryan is right. Brady also said he’ll just keep preparing like he’s done all season.
The teams split their season series with a 28-14 Jets win followed by a 45-3 Patriots victory.
