ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller and defensive end Spencer Johnson likely won’t play against Cincinnati next week due to hamstring injuries.
Linebacker Shawne Merriman is also expected to miss at least another week of practice with a strained right Achilles’ tendon. Coach Chan Gailey provides the update Monday, a day after the Bills won their first game by beating Detroit 14-12.
Walking with a slight limp, Spiller says he was hurt when planting his foot to brace himself as he was pushed out of bounds after a 29-yard punt return. Johnson was hurt in the second half.
Merriman was hurt in his first practice with the team Wednesday, a week after being claimed off waivers from San Diego.
