LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) – Chris Harris’ voice mail, e-mail and Twitter account were packed with messages after the Chicago Bears beat the New York Jets on Sunday.
He had a late interception, preserving a 38-34 win.
His team moved closer to a first-round bye and further distanced itself from those early struggles, with seven wins in eight games heading into the regular-season finale at Green Bay this week.
Harris says the Bears have “done a tremendous job” and are happy with the position they’re in. It’s a spot that few outside their locker room envisioned as they dropped three of four heading into the bye. A team that appeared to be in disarray has, if nothing else, shown it is resilient.
The Bears (11-4) could have a bye locked up by the time they arrive at Lambeau Field.
