RENTON, Wash. (AP) -Once promising Colts defensive tackle Quinn Pitcock has resurfaced with the Seahawks, two years after he stunned Indianapolis by abruptly retiring at age 24.
Seattle signed Pitcock on Thursday morning to a free-agent contract. He unpacked his small bag from his hotel room and then was on the field for what he says was his first football practice with a clear mind since perhaps high school.
The former third-round pick and member of Indianapolis’ defensive-line rotation says he was diagnosed with mild depression when he walked away from the game after playing in nine games as a rookie from Ohio State in 2007.
He says he left the Colts because, “I didn’t think I was good enough mentally for the team.”
