No Fracture
Arlington, TX – Cowboys receiver Roy Williams did not break his shoulder during a collision with a teammate. He’s getting more tests and likely will not play the rest of the preseason.
Williams banged into cornerback Orlando Scandrick while going for a pass near the goal line Thursday night in a practice at the team’s new stadium. Players were wearing helmets but not pads, and Williams was slow to get up. He left the field angry because he had recent collisions with Scandrick that resulted in a sprained wrist and his helmet flying off.
The Cowboys are counting on Williams to replace Terrell Owens as Tony Romo’s top target. Their remaining preseason games are Saturday night at home against San Francisco, then at Minnesota next week.
