Deshaun Watson completed 26-of-38 passes for 341 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in the Texans’ 26-20, Week 13 loss to the Colts, adding seven carries for 38 yards and a touchdown. Watson was also charged with two fumbles and a loss, but it was the center’s fault on a bad snap. His “interception” was a 50-50 ball that Brandin Cooks let get stolen away on a hard hit. Playing his first game without Will Fuller, Watson averaged nine yards per attempt and posted his third most passing yardage of the season against an elite defense. He found each of Keke Coutee and Chad Hansen for 100-yard days, while Brandin Cooks and Duke Johnson combined for 11 receptions. It was a heroic effort in the face of constant pressure from DeForest Buckner and the Colts’ defensive line. That pressure did result in a second half safety where Watson got crunched in the end zone. What Watson showed today was as good as could have been hoped for with his B-team supporting cast, but on the road at Chicago is another tough matchup for Week 14. He will probably find himself in the QB9-12 range.
Chicago Bears DFS Spin
Mitchell Trubisky completed 26-of-34 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown in Chicago’s Week 13 loss to the Lions. Trubisky managed his way to a fourth-quarter lead before taking a sack and fumbling on a third down pass that could have ended the game. The Lions scored a few plays later, sending the Bears to their sixth straight loss. The late game collapse likely sinks Trubisky’s chances of keeping his starting job, and the Chicago Sun Times believes coach Matt Nagy and GM Ryan Pace are on the hot seat. Nick Foles, who was active as a backup against Detroit, could replace Trubisky in Week 14.
Texans vs. Bears Week 14 Prediction
The Texans are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four meetings versus the Bears and are 6-2-2 against the number in their last 10 road games when facing an opponent with a losing home record. On the other side, the Bears are winless against the spread in their last four games overall, are 0-4 against the number in their last four games played in the month of December and have dropped four straight at the betting window in their last four games coming off a loss. They’re just 1-4 ATS in their last five games as an underdog as well.
