Falcons add Upshaw to defense
A team with plenty of offensive fire power, the Atlanta Falcons improved their lackluster defense on Friday by agreeing to a deal with Courtney Upshaw.
ESPN reports that the deal between the two was just for one year and financial terms weren’t disclosed, but the four-year NFL veteran brings a lot to the table. He had 183 tackles over four seasons to go with five sacks and five fumble recoveries. While the numbers aren’t mind blowing, he is a young linebacker that Atlanta needs.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Falcons are a long shot to win the Super Bowl this year, as they are listed with 50/1 odds. They also have 25/1 odds to win the NFC Championship and their over/under total for wins has been set at 7.5.
The Atlanta defense gave up 21.6 points per game last season and allowed just under 350 yards per game, which ranked near the middle of the pack in the NFL. The Falcons were 18th in the league in pass defense, giving up 242.6 yards per game. Upshaw should help those numbers as he is a mobile linebacker.
