49ers vs. Rams Spread Prediction
For the third consecutive week, the unbeaten Los Angeles Rams are laying a large number as a road favorite. This time around, they’re an 8.5-point road favorite against NFC West rival San Francisco. Will the Niners cover?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Rams are 8.5-point favorites to beat the 49ers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 52.5 points. As of this writing, 59% of the public betting tickets are on the Rams to cover the point spread.
Los Angeles Rams
Rams WR Josh Reynolds (hand) was upgraded to “full” in Thursday’s practice. Reynolds will be running as the Rams’ No. 3 receiver for however long Cooper Kupp (knee) is sidelined. He could see a decent amount of Richard Sherman in Week 7 but is an intriguing, bottom-dollar dart throw in DFS.
San Francisco 49ers
Richard Sherman (questionable, calf) will be a game-time decision against the Rams in Week 7. Sherman started the week as a limited practice participant but was downgraded to DNP at Friday’s session. That’s an ominous sign for his Week 7 status, though Sherman has played through worse injuries than this. Among Rams receivers, Brandin Cooks would benefit the most from Sherman’s absence.
NFL Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Rams have failed to cover the point spread in six of their last eight games coming off a win.
San Francisco
The 49ers are just 1-4 at the betting window in their last five home games dating back to last season.
Prediction
Sharper bettors jumped on the Seahawks two weeks ago when they were a 7.5-point home dog versus the Rams. Not only did they cover, they nearly won the game outright. Last week, the Rams were laying over a touchdown to the Broncos, who covered late as a home dog. This week, the Rams opened as 10.5-point road favorites and oddsmakers have been forced to adjust. First the line dropped to under the key number of 10, and by Sunday morning the line was down to 8.5.
This is too many points to lay in a division game, let alone a divisional game where the home dog is coming off an impressive offensive performance. Yes, the Niners are playing on a short week and perhaps Kyle Shanahan’s team is worn down and distraught after blowing that late lead to the Packers. But you could also make a case that despite all of their injuries, the 49ers have new life after competing hard against Aaron Rodgers. Either way, I love the home dog here.
NFL Week 7 Prediction: San Francisco 49ers +8.5
