FOXBOROUGH, MA (The Spread) – Rob Gronkowski can be unstoppable once he gets rolling. Will the New England tight end dominate Sunday’s AFC Championship against the Colts?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Gronkowski has been given an over/under total of 79.5 receiving yards for Sunday’s contest. His total for receptions has been listed at 6 while his odds to score a touchdown has been set at -200. The Patriots will host the Colts in Sunday’s AFC Championship at 6:40PM ET on CBS.
Coming off a lot of injuries in the offseason, Gronkowski still posted another great season for the Patriots. The fifth-year tight end posted 82 receptions for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns. It was his best season since his second year in 2011. In last week’s win over the Ravens, Gronkowski caught seven passes for 108 yards and one touchdown. In the previous meeting with the Colts on Nov. 16, Gronk had four receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown.
This season, Gronkowski has tallied at least 80 receiving yards in eight of the team’s 17 games. He has caught six passes or more in eight games while recording a touchdown in 11 different games this season. The Patriots and Gronkowski will be meeting up with the Colts’ passing defense, which ranked 12th in the NFL this season by allowing 229.3 yards per game.
