Rams vs. Bengals Super Bowl LVI Pick
The Rams are currently listed as a 4.5-point favorite to knock off the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. Is that too many points to lay with the “host” Rams or are Joe Burrow and the Bengals the better play as the underdog?

Matthew Stafford completed 31-of-45 passes for 337 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Rams’ 20-17, NFC Championship win over the 49ers. He also rushed for eight yards on five attempts, but that doesn’t tell the whole story, as Stafford picked up a couple first downs with his legs. A couple last-play kneel-downs sunk his yardage total. Stafford’s two touchdown throws went to Cooper Kupp from 16 and 11 yards out in the first and fourth quarters for the 19th and 20th times this season. Stafford looked like he was going to pull a “Stafford” with an end-zone interception in the first half, but he overcame it at the end of the day and engineered a fourth-quarter comeback for the ages. The Rams overcame a 10-point deficit and will host the Bengals two weeks from now in L.A. for Super Bowl 56. Stafford has been a major part of the Rams’ postseason run with a 6:1 TD:INT mark.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow was named the 2021 Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year. In a surprisingly tight vote, Burrow (28 votes) beat out Dak Prescott (21) for the honor. Derwin James received the other ballot. Coming off a season-ending torn ACL injury, Burrow finished as a low-end QB1 in 2021. The Bengals played it run-heavy at times to protect him from a weak offensive line, but when Burrow blew up in Weeks 16 and 17, he won a lot of fantasy titles for his managers. He’ll remain in the QB1 discussion in 2022. Oh, and you might see him this weekend too.
2022 Super Bowl Betting Prediction
The Rams are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven playoff games as a favorite, which includes their failure to cover in the NFC Championship Game two weeks ago versus the 49ers. The Rams are also 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game and are 2-5 against the number in their last seven games coming off an ATS loss. On the other side, the Bengals are a perfect 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games overall, are 3-0-1 against the number in their last four playoff games and have cashed in five straight when listed as the underdog.
