Eagles vs. Redskins Spread Prediction
The Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff hopes remain thin but they could stay in the wild card mix with a win tonight against the banged-up Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. Will the Eagles cover tonight as the favorite?
Game Snapshot
379 Washington Redskins at 380 Philadelphia Eagles
8:15 p.m. ET, Monday, December 3
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Eagles are 6-point favorites to beat the Redskins. The total, meanwhile, sits at 45 points. As of this writing, 51% of the public betting tickets are on the Eagles to cover the point spread.
Washington Redskins
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports LB Reuben Foster will likely be sidelined for the rest of the season. Foster won’t appeal the league’s decision to place him on the Commissioner Exempt List. He’s likely looking at a minimum six-game suspension to open next year, but the Redskins will stash him until the legal process plays out.
Philadelphia Eagles
Darren Sproles (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 13 against the Redskins. When asked if he’ll play Monday, Sproles casually responded, “That’s the plan.” He also mentioned “we’re going to see” what his eventual role will be. It’s worth noting Sproles received all running back targets and 50% of Philly’s red zone rushes in his only available three quarters this season. We still expect Josh Adams to handle the load as a confident RB2.
NFL Betting Trends
Washington
The Redskins have covered the spread in five of their last six games following a loss.
Philadelphia
The Eagles are just 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.
Prediction
The Redskins have covered the spread in six of their last eight games against the Eagles and are 8-3 against the number in their last 11 games played in Philadelphia. On the other side, the Eagles are winless at the betting window in their last five home games, are 0-4 against the spread in their last four conference games and are 1-4 ATS in their last five games in December. This Eagles team has won only one game this year (at the Giants, 34-13) by more than six points. All of their wins have been close.
