New England Patriots DFS Spin
Cam Newton completed 12-of-19 passes for 69 yards and one touchdown and had two rushing scores on 14 carries in the Patriots’ Week 13 win over the Chargers. With the help of an elite special teams performance, Newton stomped all over the Chargers on Sunday. He chipped away with underneath passes in the first half before bulldozing defenders in the red zone. Newton picked up his 10th and 11th rushing touchdown of the season, plus his fifth passing score. All of it seemed way too easy for a team that has far less talent on paper. Newton’s passing production comes and goes, but he’s as good of a bet for a rushing score as anyone in the league. The Patriots will stay on the west coast ahead of Thursday’s tilt against the Rams. Newton will be a high-end QB2 in that tougher matchup.
Los Angeles Rams DFS Spin
Jared Goff completed 37-of-47 passes for 351 yards and one touchdown in the Rams’ 38-28, Week 13 win over the Cardinals, rushing for an additional one-yard touchdown. Goff rebounded in a big way from his horrendous Week 12 against the 49ers. He completed a season-high 78.7% of his passes against the Cardinals, picking apart this soft pass defense, hooking up with Tyler Higbee from one yard out on his lone passing score. Goff later QB-dived his way into the end zone for a one-yard rushing score. Goff has experienced major highs and lows this season. He has 0-1 passing scores in four of his last five games. The Rams still prefer to run the ball, so Goff will be nothing more than a mid-range QB2 at home against the Patriots in Week 14.
