The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Washington is a 3-point home underdog to beat Oakland, which opened as 2.5-point favorites. The total, meanwhile, hit the board at 53.5 but has been bet up to 54.
OAKLAND RAIDERS BETTING TRENDS
The Raiders are 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 road games, are 9-4 against the number in their last 13 games overall, and are 6-1 at the betting window in their last seven games in September. The road team has also had a ton of success in this series, covering in all five of the last five matchups between Oakland and Washington.
WASHINGTON REDSKINS BETTING TRENDS
The Redskins have covered the spread in 11 of their last 16 games overall, but are just 1-4 against the number in their last five games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game. They’re also winless at 0-4 at the betting window in their last four home games versus a team with a winning road record.

OUR PREDICTION: The Raiders have been one of the most impressive teams in the NFL through two weeks, but I don’t like this situation. First and foremost, there’s always at least some value in backing home underdogs, especially in primetime games. There’s just something to the home dog feeling disrespected on national television. Also, the Raiders are playing a non-conference game on the road after traveling cross-country. Finally, Oakland will open divisional play next week at Denver. As strange as it sounds, because the Redskins are competitive, this almost feels like a letdown for the Raiders.
