Green Bay is now 1-1 overall and against the spread following a 17-14 loss to the Vikings on the road last week. Green Bay is playing in its home opener today, but the team has some questions about the offense. Many expected big things from the offense with Jordy Nelson returning, but Green Bay is averaging just 295 yards per game on offense right now. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for just 412 yards and three touchdowns so far. Despite the offensive struggles, the defense is allowing just 342 yards per game right now.
The Lions fell to 1-1 overall and against the spread last week with a 16-15 loss to the Titans at home. Detroit blew a lead late and committed 17 penalties in the loss. The main concern for Detroit right now is injuries, especially on defense. Ezekiel Anash is out for the game while Devin Taylor and Tyrun Walker are questionable on the defensive line. Linebackers DeAndre Levy and Antwione Williams are both doubtful and Kyle Van Noy is questionable. Oh…Ameer Abdullah is also on IR with a foot injury to help the offense. Still, Detroit is averaging 426.5 yards per game on offense despite allowing 422 yards per game.

Detroit isn’t a good franchise, but the Lions still are a team that plays teams close. While the Lions are banged up, Green Bay still just hasn’t figured out its offense quite yet. Also, the Detroit offense should be okay to move the ball on the Packers. Matthew Stafford has looked solid in his first two starts and is spreading the ball around to his multiple weapons. Green Bay will likely win, but look for the Lions to keep this close.
