Los Angeles Chargers Game Notes
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Mike Williams (back) is a “true game-time decision” for Week 15 against the Raiders. As is Keenan Allen (hamstring), who exited for a brief period in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Falcons. Tyron Johnson most recently spiked 6/55/1 on seven targets in place of Williams in that one and would emerge as a season-long FLEX play if the latter is officially scratched pre-game. Jalen Guyton would also become relevant for deeper leagues if both Allen and Williams can’t go.
Las Vegas Raiders Game Notes
Raiders placed WR Henry Ruggs on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Even if Ruggs is merely a “close contact,” he is now out for Thursday’s game against the Chargers, as he must quarantine for five days. Ruggs popped up for 3/84/1 in Week 13 but returned to 3/18/0 for Week 14. It has been a disappointing, lightly-used rookie season for the No. 12 overall pick, but not yet one that portends doom for the rest of his NFL career. The 21-year-old is simply a work in progress. Ruggs’ lack of clear-out deep speed will be an issue for Derek Carr against the Bolts.
Chargers vs. Raiders Over/Under Prediction
The total has gone over in four of the Chargers’ last five games on the road, has cashed in five of the Raiders’ last six home games and is 10-3 in Las Vegas’ last 13 games overall. The Raiders have played zero defense this season, which is why they just fired their defensive coordinator, and the Chargers have plenty of scoring potential with rookie quarterback Justin Herbert. Granted, Anthony Lynn will likely cost the Bolts some points with his pre-half and second-half decision making, but the Raiders are so bad defensively that Lynn shouldn’t be too much of a factor tonight.
