Over cashing in Steelers vs. Pats meetings
Anyone looking forward to tonight’s NFL opener between the Steelers and Patriots to be high-scoring may get their wish.
Pittsburgh and New England will open the 2015 NFL season tonight at 7:30PM ET when the Patriots host the Steelers as a 7-point favorite. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the over/under is currently sitting at 51.5 points after opening at 48.5.
One reason for the movement on the total is that the over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams. The over is also 6-1 in the Patriots’ last seven games played on Thursday and 13-5 in their last 18 games played in Week 1. The over is also a profitable 10-3 in the Steelers’ last 13 games in Week 1.
Tom Brady will be active and under center for the Pats tonight after winning his “Deflategate” appeal versus the NFL. Look for him to take advantage of a secondary that features the likes of William Gay, Antwon Blake and Cortez Allen.
