New Orleans Saints Fantasy Spin
Drew Brees completed 32-of-45 passes for 287 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Saints’ 26-9, Week 10 loss to the Falcons. Brees and the Saints’ offense couldn’t get going all afternoon. He’d been sacked just once all season entering Sunday, but the Falcons’ mediocre pass rush managed to get their long-time rival to the ground on six separate occasions. It was the most sacks Brees had taken in a game since 2013. Overall, the game marked the first time in the Brees-Sean Payton era that the offense failed to reach double-digit points. Brees and the offense will have better days, perhaps as early as next week against the Buccaneers’ brutal secondary.
Tampa Bay Bucs Fantasy Spin
Jameis Winston completed 30-of-48 passes for 358 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Bucs’ 30-27, Week 10 win over the Cardinals, adding three carries for 40 additional yards. Turnover-machine Winston also fumbled, but the Bucs managed to recover. Winston stood and delivered some nice throws, but his mistakes stood out more than his big plays. Winston ended the Bucs’ opening drive with a pick where Cards DB Byron Murphy ran Chris Godwin’s route for him. INT No. 2 was a stare down to Godwin. Winston also air mailed what could have been a 47-yard score to Breshad Perriman. His touchdown was a 10-yarder to O.J. Howard on a coverage bust. Winston has a tough Week 11 home date with a Saints defense that will be smarting from Sunday’s inconceivable loss to the Falcons.
