Falcons vs. Saints Line Movement Report
The line in tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup between the Falcons and Saints has dropped off a key number ahead of the 8:30PM ET kickoff.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Saints are now 2.5-point home favorites versus the Falcons after opening as a 3-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, hasn’t moved after opening at 53.5 points last week.

One reason for the movement could be because of the money coming in on the Falcons. As of this writing, 67% of public bettors are backing the Saints to cover the spread, yet the line moved off the key number of 3, which would entice more public bettors to jump on New Orleans. Outside of a key injury, the only reason a line would move like that would be because bookmakers are receiving more money on Atlanta despite there being more betting tickets on New Orleans.

That said, let’s explore the injury theory for a second. Matt Ryan is healthy, but Julio Jones (ankle, calf) and Mohamed Sanu (ankle) are banged up. After Jones missed several days of practice last week, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported Sunday that Jones was able to fully participate in the team’s walkthrough on Sunday. Coach Dan Quinn expects Jones to play as well, but will test him throughout the day.
Would Jones’ status be enough to force bookmakers to adjust the line a half point, especially with the number dropping from 3 down to 2.5? It’s unlikely, which leads us back to our original thought:
At least some “sharp” money is coming in on the underdog tonight.
