Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Patriots are 6.5-point favorites to beat the Dolphins. The total, meanwhile, sits at 48 points. As of this writing, 55% of the public betting tickets are on the Dolphins to cover the point spread.
Miami Dolphins Fantasy News & Notes
Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) is practicing in full for Week 4 against the Patriots. Tannehill’s shoulder injury is not a concern. The 30-year-old gets an attackable matchup against the slumping Patriots in Week 4, though beating the Pats on their home field is never an easy assignment. Coming off a three-touchdown performance against Oakland in Week 3, Tannehill will be a QB2 consideration.
New England Patriots Fantasy News & Notes
Rob Gronkowski (ankle) remained “limited” on Thursday. Gronk’s injury is not a concern. Getting him going against the Dolphins will be a Week 4 point of emphasis for the Patriots.
NFL Betting Trends
Miami
The over is 10-4 in the Dolphins’ last 14 games overall.
New England
The under is 6-2 in the Patriots’ last eight games coming off a straight up loss.
Prediction
The Patriots will get some of their injured defensive players back this week and for as bad as they played last week in Detroit, I don’t think we’ll see the same poor defense. If we do, that’s still good for the under because that means the Dolphins will be able to run the ball down the Pats’ throats like the Lions did a week ago. Either way, I expect this game to be low-scoring. This is not the same New England offense that we’ve grown accustomed to seeing. Until Josh Gordon proves to be healthy and knows the offense, the Pats will continue to have zero outside help in the passing game. Teams will continue to double-team Gronk and the Pats will be forced to try and play ball control to help Tom Brady and the defense.
NFL Week 4 Prediction: Dolphins/Patriots under 48
