Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Rams are 7-point favorites to beat the Chargers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 49 points. As of this writing, 60% of the public betting tickets are on the Rams to cover the point spread.
Los Angeles Chargers
Chargers DE Joey Bosa (foot) is not expected to return until “next month.” Bosa will get the cast removed from his foot on Sunday then wear a walking boot around. He’s reportedly not expected back until “sometime next month.” Isaac Rochell will continue to start opposite Melvin Ingram until Bosa returns.
Los Angeles Rams
Mark Barron (ankle) is doubtful for Week 3 against the Chargers. Barron hasn’t been able to play in the first two weeks and shouldn’t be expected to suit up until further notice. ILB Ramik Wilson and S Marqui Christian will continue to split time in his stead.
NFL Betting Trends
L.A. Chargers
The Chargers are 15-7-1 against the spread in their last 23 road games.
L.A. Rams
The Rams are 5-11-1 against the number in their last 17 home games.
Prediction
The Rams beat two of the dregs in the NFL the last two weeks so I understand the thought process of taking the points with the Chargers because they’re untested. But just because they’re untested doesn’t mean these two teams are on the same level. The Chargers will once again be without Joey Bosa and their defense hasn’t played great thus far, even in BUffalo last week where they allowed 20 points to a dreadful Bills offense. I like the Rams by 10 today.
NFL Week 3 Prediction: Los Angeles Rams -7
