Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Rams are 3.5-point favorites to beat the Chiefs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 63 points. As of this writing, 64% of the public betting tickets are on the Chiefs to cover the point spread.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is listed on the Week 11 injury report with a foot issue but is practicing in full. Mahomes had previously avoided the injury report this season. The “full” designation means it will not be an issue for Week 11. Mahomes is the top fantasy quarterback of the week in a game that had a gaudy 63.5-point over/under as of Thursday afternoon.
Los Angeles Rams
Todd Gurley rushed 16 times for 120 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ Week 10 win over the Seahawks, adding three receptions for 40 additional yards. Running with a head of steam on a toss play, Gurley’s 17-yard score was sprung by a big Robert Woods block. Gurley has now cleared 150 yards from scrimmage five times this season. He has 17 touchdowns in 10 games. He should threaten for 200 yards in tonight’s showdown with the Chiefs.
NFL Betting Trends
Kansas City
The Chiefs are 12-3 against the spread in their last 15 games overall and 20-7 ATS in their last 27 road games.
Los Angeles
The Rams are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games played on Monday night.
Prediction
The Chiefs actually have worse defensive numbers in a lot of ways but the Rams have serious issues on that side of the ball right now. In their last three games, they’ve allowed 31, 45, and 27 points defensively. In those three games, they faced elite quarterbacks in Russell Wilson, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers. While it’s too early to crown Patrick Mahomes as “elite,” he’s an MVP candidate that should shred this L.A. defense. The bottom line is that the Rams have struggled against top QBs, Cooper Kupp is out for the year with a torn ACL, and I’m catching 3.5 points with a hot team playing a team that hasn’t played much defense recently.
