Las Vegas Hilton Super Contest Week 5

Hilton NFL Super Contest Week #5

That’s what Las Vegas Hilton SuperContest players will do this week as they pursue the latest leader, who has a half-game edge over two opponents and a two-game or less advantage over almost two dozen other hopefuls grabbing at his/her shirttails.

The contest drew 416 players who paid $1,500 apiece.

They select five games weekly against a Tuesday contest spread and earn a point for a win and half-point for a push.

Contestants preferred underdogs in Week 5 by an 8-6 count for the second straight week.

The New Orleans Saints have done some fancy marching in their comeback season and are Week 5’s top consensus pick.

Participants chose the 6 1/2-point favorite Saints 127-52 over Tampa Bay.

The leading dog play was Buffalo, which received a 95-32 nod over the 11-point home favorite Chicago Bears.

The consensus is 30-27-2, not including one pick’em game.

Best bets are 2-2.

The week’s closest calls were 6 1/2-point underdog Detroit 64-62 over Minnesota; the New York Jets, a touchdown dog to Jacksonville, 67-64; and Dallas, a 91-88 choice over Philadelphia.

Other Week 5 consensus selections were Indianapolis, 47-17 over Tennessee; Washington, 95-83 over the New York Giants; Green Bay over St. Louis, 78-42; Miami, 66-59 over New England; Carolina, 66-60 over Cleveland; Kansas City, 114-60 over Arizona; San Francisco, 77-27 over Oakland; Pittsburgh, 119-81, over San Diego; and Denver, 115-87 over Baltimore.
