Five Most Interesting NFL Week 10 Lines
Heading into Week 10, what are the five most interesting matchups and lines for this weekend’s slate in the NFL?
Matchup 1: Cowboys at Falcons, 4:25 p.m. ET, Sunday
Following consecutive victories against the 49ers, Redskins and Chiefs, the Cowboys are now back into the wild card mix in the NFC. The Falcons, meanwhile, have dropped three of their last four games to fall to 4-4 and they’re dangerously close to falling out of contention. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Falcons opened as 3-point home favorites for Sunday’s pivotal matchup with the Cowboys, but the line has already jumped to 3.5. As for the total, the number hit the board at 53 but was bet down to 50.5.
Matchup 2: Saints at Bills, 1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday
Who would have thought back in September that this would be one of the key matchups in Week 10? Well, it is, especially when you consider New Orleans is the team to beat in the NFC South and Buffalo has an opportunity to grab a wild card spot in the AFC. After winning their sixth consecutive game in dominant fashion on Sunday in a blowout victory over the Bucs, the Saints are 2-point road favorites versus the Bills on Sunday. The total hit the board at 48.5 but is now down to 47.
Matchup 3: Patriots at Broncos, 8:30 p.m. ET, Sunday
The Sunday night matchup lost a lot of luster following four consecutive losses for Denver. The Broncos have massive quarterback issues and could turn to former first-round pick Paxton Lynch if he’s healthy. Trevor Siemian was a nightmare in losses to the Giants, Chargers and Chiefs, and Brock Osweiler didn’t fare much better versus the Eagles on Sunday. Could Lynch right the ship for the reeling Broncos? Even if he’s healthy, that’s unlikely. Oddsmakers feel the same way, as the Patriots opened as a touchdown-sized favorite for Sunday night but the line is already up to 7.5 at most sports books. New England figures to be one of the biggest public teams in Week 10.
Matchup 4: Seahawks at Cardinals, 8:25 p.m. ET, Thursday
There’s added intriguing around Thursday night’s matchup between the Seahawks and Cardinals since Seattle lost to Washington at home on Sunday and Arizona is coming off a win over San Francisco. Still, with the injuries to Carson Palmer and David Johnson, the Cardinals are still a significant home dog to their NFC West rivals. The Seahawks opened as 5-point road favorites but the line jumped to 6. It’ll be interesting to see how Russell Wilson fares against Arizona’s inconsistent but talented defense after only generating 14 points against Washington on Sunday.
Matchup 5: Grab Bag
Honestly, you could rank multiple different games here. The first-place Vikings will travel to D.C. to take on a Redskins team that, for the moment, saved their season with a victory in Seattle. Minnesota is a 2-point road favorite against Washington at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
The Jaguars and Titans remain tied for first place in the AFC South and both teams host games at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday. Jacksonville is a 4.5-point home favorite versus the L.A. Chargers, while Tennessee is a 5.5-point favorite to beat struggling Cincinnati.
Finally, the best story of the NFL season is the L.A. Rams, who are 11-point home favorites versus the Tom Savage-led Texans at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday. The Rams are 6-2, currently have sole possession of first place in the NFC West, and own the league’s highest point differential at +108.
