Philadelphia Eagles DFS Spin
Jalen Hurts completed 12-of-26 passes for 115 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Eagles’ 28-22, Week 6 loss to the Bucs, adding 10 carries for 44 yards and two additional scores. In a repeat of Week 5, Hurts was drawing dead from a fantasy perspective until scoring a pair of rushing touchdowns in the game’s final 18 minutes. Unlike Week 5, he couldn’t complete a comeback this evening, though the Eagles did draw to within 28-22 with 5:56 remaining after being down 28-7. They might have gotten a shot at the lead if not for a dubious taunting penalty. Hurts’ best passing tactic was underthrown deep balls, as he managed to rack up an astounding 95 yards in defensive pass interference penalties. The Bucs had more penalty yards called on them than any team all season. Hurts flat out missed too many throws, though he also kept plays alive with his legs time and again. It’s a tradeoff that has made for some hard to watch football, a few Houdini wins and a lot of fantasy points. The man is simply incapable of finishing outside the top 12 at quarterback. We aren’t sure how long he can keep up the high-wire act, but the Raiders are unlikely to slow him in Week 7.
Las Vegas Raiders DFS Spin
Derek Carr completed 18-of-27 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns in Las Vegas’ 34-24 Week 6 blowout over the Broncos. Carr made the Broncos pay for leaning on man coverage against him, completing five passes of 30-plus yards including completions of 51, 49, 40, 33, and 31 yards throughout play. He cerebrally opened the game with a 48-yard touchdown strike to Henry Ruggs and, later, hit Ruggs for a 40-yard gain to set up Josh Jacobs’ rumbling three-yard score. It was easily Carr’s most efficient performance through the air this year and best since he passed for 386 yards in Las Vegas’ Week 3 win over Miami. Carr can be trusted as a high-end streaming option yet again in Week 8 against the Eagles.
Eagles vs. Raiders Betting Prediction
The Eagles are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Raiders, are 2-7 against the number in their last nine road games and are 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven games as a road underdog. On the other side, the Raiders have covered in seven of their last 10 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
