Jalen Hurts completed 12-of-23 passes for 190 yards in the Eagles’ 17-11, Week 2 loss to the 49ers, adding 10 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Hurts was erratic as a passer, nailing Quez Watkins on a deep shot that resulted in 91 yards on one play but underthrowing receivers at multiple points later in the game. The Eagles took an early lead but were unable to hold the three-point advantage for long. Most of their drives stalled out on the back of Hurts’s incompletions and the 49ers ultimately passed them in the second quarter. The saving grace for fantasy managers who started Hurts will be his ground game. He was the most effective runner the Eagles had, leading the team in rushing yards and scoring their only touchdown. With a rushing floor that is unmatched by most quarterbacks, Hurts is a safe bet to finish any week as a QB1 even if he looks off as a passer. Expect his throwing stats to move in the right direction next week as he faces the Cowboys in a game that projects to see many points put on the board.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Cowboys RT La’el Collins attempted to bribe a drug test collector. Collins was suspended for five games after the team’s Week 1 loss. He missed seven drug tests before attempting to bribe one of the NFL’s drug testers. Collins’ suspension was initially reduced from five games to two games through the help of the NFL Player’s Association. However, after appealing the suspension, an arbitrator recommended that the five-game suspension be upheld. With the suspension now standing at five games, Collins will be eligible to return for the Cowboys’ Week 8 game against the Vikings.
