Miami Dolphins DFS Spin
Jaylen Waddle (oblique) was removed from the Week 2 injury report and will play against the Patriots. Waddle to a backseat to Tyreek Hill in Week 1 and saw just five targets. He turned those looks into four catches for 74 yards, so it wasn’t a lost day for the speedy wideout. Still, it’s clear he remains the No. 2 in the Miami offense and that will result in some underwhelming days. Fantasy managers should treat him as a boom/bust WR2 for Week 2.
New England Patriots DFS Spin
Patriots WR JuJu Smith-Schuster said his knee is “100 percent.” Smith-Schuster is not on the Patriots’ injury report ahead of the team’s Week 2 matchup against the Dolphins, but there have been concerns throughout the offseason that his knee is limiting his play. NFL Network’s Mike Giardi reported in June that Smith-Schuster was dealing with a lingering knee injury that he suffered in 2022, which resulted in him being sidelined throughout minicamp. Smith-Schuster appeared to lack explosiveness in the Patriots’ Week 1 matchup against the Eagles, and was left off the field as the team attempted to score on the final drive to take the lead. Fantasy managers should avoid starting him in Week 2 if they’re able to do so.

Dolphins vs. Patriots Prediction:
Give me Miami. Tua Tagovailoa is 4-0 versus Bill Belichick in his career and is coming off a 466-yard passing day in Week 1 against the Chargers. He needs 362 passing yards to pass Kurt Warner’s performance in 2000 for third-most passing yards in a team’s first two games. There’s no doubt that Belichick will have a better defensive game plan for Mike McDaniel’s offense than Brandon Stanley and the Chargers did last week in L.A., but I don’t see how New England keeps up if game flow eventually starts to favor Miami. The Patriots lack explosiveness in their passing game.
