Dolphins vs. Buccaneers Prediction
In-state rivals will meet at Raymond James Stadium tonight when the Bucs host the Dolphins at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Is Miami a good play as slight road favorites or will the Tom Brady-less Bucs produce an “upset” in their first preseason game?

Miami Dolphins DFS Spin
ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques believes Myles Gaskin is on the Dolphins’ roster bubble. Chase Edmonds, Sony Michel, and Raheem Mostert are competing for carries out of the Miami backfield, and Louis-Jacques lists Gaskin with Salvon Ahmed and UDFA ZaQuandre White as backs merely competing for a roster spot. Gaskin didn’t impress as a runner last year when given the opportunity to run as the Dolphins’ RB1, and the coaches eventually turned to Duke Johnson as the team’s main ball-carrier. Gaskin doesn’t have a path to touches in Miami.
Tampa Bay Bucs DFS Spin
Bucs coach Todd Bowles said Tom Brady’s absence from the team through Aug. 20 was planned “before training camp started.” “We allotted this time because he wanted to get in and get chemistry with the guys and go through two weeks of training camp, knowing he wasn’t going to play the first two games,” Bowles said. The head coach said he has a “pretty high level of confidence” Brady will be back and ready for Week 1. This is a hefty chunk of camp to be missing, but if there is one player where we are not going to worry, it is 45-year-old Tom Brady.
Dolphins vs. Buccaneers Betting Prediction
I tend to favor teams with new coaching staffs in the preseason because they often feel like they have more to prove from the jump. Technically Todd Bowles is a new head coach for the Bucs, but he’s been in Tampa for several years as their defensive coordinator so it’s not necessarily a new staff like the one Miami will unveil tonight. Either way, the Dolphins won the offseason with their acquisition of Tyreek Hill and the hype that has surrounded the team is palpable. That’s exactly why I’m going to fade them tonight. The expectations for the Dolphins are unusually high, whereas the Bucs have no expectations given that Brady isn’t even in camp. Give me the home dog.
