Darrel Williams Super Bowl 55 Player Prop Predictions
I expect the Chiefs to go pass-heavy like they did in Week 12 when they played the Bucs in Tampa. Andy Reid and his coaching staff are well aware of Tampa Bay’s stout run defense, which ranked first in run defense DVOA and first in run defense Expected Points Added (EPA). With run-stuffing defensive tackle Vita Vea now healthy and occupying space again in the middle of the Bucs’ defense, trying to move the ball on the ground versus Tampa is difficult.
If I’m on the right path when it comes to the Chiefs’ game plan, then Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelece will the focal point of Kansas City’s offense, leaving Williams and rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire as the complements to keep the Bucs defense honest. That doesn’t mean that some of Williams’ prop odds won’t go over, however.
According to the fantasy football website 4for4.com, the Bucs allowed the most receptions to running backs this season. Williams out-touched the rookie Edwards-Helaire 14-7 in CEH’s first game back from a hip injury that sidelined him multiple games in the final month of the season. Thus, I fully believe that Williams will be the 1A to CEH’s 1B in the Chiefs’ offense. That should lead to plenty of opportunities in the passing game.
