Commanders vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay: Will Jalen Hurts & A.J. Brown be grounded?

Jalen Hurts Jalen Hurts

Will Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and the Eagles’ passing game continue to struggle when they host the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game? Will Jayden Daniels continue to terrorize opponents despite his rookie status? Read on for our Commanders vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay.

Commanders vs. Eagles Leg 1: Jayden Daniels over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+126)

Daniels’ over/under for passing touchdowns currently sits at 1.5, but the under is heavily juiced (-188). The rookie has averaged 2.0 passing touchdowns per game over his last 10 contests. He threw for exactly two touchdowns against the Lions in the Divisional round and two touchdowns against the Bucs on Wildcard weekend. He had zero against the Cowboys in Week 18, but he also didn’t play much in that game.

In contests that he’s played the entire game, Daniels has thrown for at least two touchdowns in seven straight contests. The Rookie of the Year favorite threw for five touchdowns against the Eagles the last time these two teams played.

Commanders vs. Eagles Leg 2: First Half Total Over 23.5 (-110)

The first-half over has been profitable on Championship Sunday in the NFL. In the past 10 years, the first-half over is 13-5. Over that span, the combined score in the first half of all NFL conference championship games is roughly 26 points.

Last season, the Chiefs and Ravens played under the game total of 44, but that was mostly due to the teams combining for only three points in the second half. The Chiefs out-paced the Ravens 17-7 in the first half, leading to the over 23.5 cashing for bettors. In the NFC title game between the Lions and 49ers, both the first half over of 26.5 and the full game hit.

The first half over split in the first two meetings between the Eagles and Commanders this season. The under cashed in the first meeting in Philadelphia, while the over hit easily in Washington later in the season. The first-half over is 1-1 in the Commanders’ first two playoff games and is 1-1 in the Eagles’ two postseason matchups. Despite the .500 records across the board, I still see this as a solid value to add to our SGP.

Commanders vs. Eagles Leg 3: A.J. Brown under 67.5 Receiving Yards

Brown has had a quiet postseason to date. With a receiving yards total of 80.5 against the Packers, Brown racked up just 10 yards in the Wildcard round. He bested that number only slightly last Sunday in the Divisional round, producing only 14 yards versus the Rams.

Brown’s lack of production for yards correlates with his reception numbers, as he went under in both of his postseason games. He caught one pass against the Packers and two against the Rams.

I don’t trust anything about this Philadelphia passing game. Before Jalen Hurts was injured, he struggled to get the Eagles’ passing attack into a rhythm. Then once he came back from his late-season head injury, OC Kellen Moore has been cautious with his play-calling. Finally, Hurts was injured in the fourth quarter against the Rams last week. He’ll play today, but how effective he’ll be as the game wears on is unknown.

The matchup might be juicy for Brown today, but he only produced 68 yards against the Commanders in that back-and-forth Week 16 matchup in Washington.
