SB 55 Prop Predictions: Edwards-Helaire
Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire had an excellent rookie season but will he crack a Bucs defense that has been stout against the run this season?

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Super Bowl Player Prop Predictions
According to 4for4.com, the Bucs ranked first in run defense DVOA, first in run defense Expected Points Added (EPA) and seventh in explosive run rate (percent of run plays of 10-plus yards allowed). With run-stuffing DT Vita Vea back in the middle of their defensive line, Tampa Bay is virtually impossible to crack from a rushing standpoint.
Thus, it’s likely the Chiefs utilize the same game plan they had back in Week 12 when these two teams met in Tampa: Air the ball out.
Edwards-Helaire dominated touches in the first half of the AFC Championship Game versus the Bills, but wasn’t seen in the final 25 minutes of the game. He was nursing an injury coming into the game, but also wasn’t effective versus Buffalo, which has a good defense but not to the level of Tampa Bay.
There’s also Darrel Williams, who out-touched the rookie 14-7 in Edwards-Helaire first game back from injury. Williams pounded in his touchdown rom six yards out in the second quarter, which is noteworthy given that the Chiefs used him in the red zone over CEH.
Given the Bucs’ stout run defense, the presence of Williams (not to mention third-back Le’Veon Bell, who was once the best running back in the league at one point while a member of the Steelers) and the Chiefs’ game plan offensively, I don’t see Edwards-Helaire having a huge Sunday.
