Panthers vs. Redskins Total Prediction
The Washington Redskins were routed in New Orleans on Monday night and will host another dangerous NFC South team on Sunday when they host the Carolina Panthers at 1:00 p.m. ET. Will that game also be high-scoring?
Game Snapshot
257 Carolina Panthers at 258 Washington Redskins

FedExField, Landover, Maryland
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Redskins are 1-point favorites to beat the Panthers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 44.5 points. As of this writing, 61% of the public betting tickets are on the Panthers to cover the point spread.
Carolina Panthers
Greg Olsen (foot) was upgraded to “full” in Thursday’s practice. Barring a setback, Olsen will be out there for the first time since Week 1. Considering his extreme risk of re-injury, Olsen should be considered a fringe TE1 until he demonstrates the ability to stay on the field this season.
Washington Redskins
Adrian Peterson (ankle, knee, shoulder) practiced again on Thursday. Peterson was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday’s practice, which was actually a walk-through. The veteran is dealing with a myriad of minor injuries, though Peterson is adamant he’ll be out there against the Panthers on Sunday. Game script has hurt Peterson in recent weeks as Washington continues to lean on pass-catcher Chris Thompson when playing from behind. That could be a problem again for him in Week 6.
NFL Betting Trends
Carolina
The under is 4-0 in the last four Panthers-Redskins game in Washington.
Washington

Prediction
Monday night was more than just Drew Brees breaking records and Michael Thomas and Josh Norman beefing on Twitter after the game: The Redskins have problems defensively. Despite having two weeks to prepare for Sean Payton’s offense, the Redskins had too many breakdowns in their defensive backfield to count. Cam Newton is not Brees and the Panthers aren’t the Saints offensively but they’re more than capable of putting up 30 on any team, especially one like Washington that is coming off a dismal defensive performance just six days ago. I like the over.
