Arizona Cardinals DFS Spin
Kyler Murray (leg) told reporters Wednesday that he’s “good” and expects to make the Week 17 start against the Rams. Murray is practicing in full, putting him right on track for Sunday’s duel with Rams backup QB John Wolford. The Cardinals should be viewed as overwhelming favorites against the shorthanded Rams with a playoff spot on the line. Murray finished the Weeks 1-16 fantasy season as the overall QB1.
Los Angeles Rams DFS Spin
John Wolford will start at quarterback for the Rams in Week 17 against the Cardinals. Jared Goff underwent surgery on his broken and dislocated right (throwing) thumb Monday and is not expected to get cleared in time for Sunday’s do-or-die game with a playoff spot on the line. Wolford, 25, has never attempted an NFL pass and has been with the Rams since April 2019 after signing following a successful stint with the AAF’s Arizona Hotshots where he led the short-lived league in passing touchdowns. It’s hard to see Wolford actually pulling out the win, but crazier things have happened in this league. The Rams are expected to sign Blake Bortles off the Broncos’ practice squad to serve as Wolford’s backup after Bortles spent 2019 as Goff’s backup.
Cardinals vs. Rams Betting Prediction
The Cardinals are winless at the betting window in their last seven games against the Rams (which includes one push), are 0-4 against the number in their last four games versus a team with a winning record and have dropped six of their last eight games ATS overall. Arizona is also 4-9 against the spread in its last 13 games as a favorite and is 1-4 against the number in its last five games following an ATS loss.
On the other side, the Rams are 19-7-1 against the spread in their last 27 games versus conference opponents, are 7-2-1 against the number in their last 10 games coming off a loss and are 10-2 at the betting window in their last 12 games following an ATS loss.
