Tampa Bay Bucs DFS Spin
Tom Brady completed 15-of-23 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay’s 26-14 Week 14 win over the Vikings. Brady’s mental clock broke in this one, forcing him to unnecessarily rush throws and sail wide-open receivers on multiple occasions in the first half; it was as if the team learned nothing over the bye through the first quarter. But Brady eventually settled to find Scotty Miller, who burned Chris Jones’ coverage for a 48-yard touchdown to lend the Bucs an early 7-6 lead. Brady later tossed his 30th touchdown of the season to Rob Gronkowski for a two-yard score. Vikings K Dan Bailey left 10 points on the board due to three missed field goals and a whiffed extra kick, but Minnesota didn’t do anything on defense (especially sans Eric Kendricks) to convince they could have pulled this one off. Week 15 offers Brady another cush matchup (that he can hopefully perform better in) against Atlanta’s secondary.
Atlanta Falcons DFS Spin
Matt Ryan completed 21-of-32 passes for 224 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions in the Falcons’ Week 14 loss to the Chargers. Ryan was intercepted on back-to-back drives late in the fourth quarter. The Falcons were approaching field goal range on both throws and had a chance to put away the Chargers if not for the turnovers. Atlanta didn’t even try to run with a 62 percent pass ratio. It was more questionable playcalling from the Falcons, especially given the absence of Julio Jones. Even if Jones returns next week, Ryan won’t be more than a high-end QB2 against the Bucs.
